Hot Bengal Masala
Hot bengal masala is a family recipe. It is similar to Xacuti. Xacuti is a curry prepared in Goa with complex spicing, including white poppy seeds, roasted ground coconut and large dried red chilies. It is usually prepared with chicken or lamb. It is also known as chacuti, in Portuguese.
Ingredients: Spices, tamarind water, tomato paste, cider vinegar, canola oil, lemon juice, herbs, ginger and garlic.
Directions: Add two tbsp of masala to 1/2 kg of prepared vegetables, lentils or meat. Cook for 20 minutes covered. Mix in 1/2 cup coconut milk. Serve with rice or bread and a salad.
